I don't know how that forgives Trump for not immediately kicking the KKK out of his campaign a century later.

Since 1948, though, the racist element walked out of the Democratic party, made a brief appearance as the Dixiecrats, and soon folded into the Republican party, where they've been at home ever since. Read a newspaper sometime, Donald.
