Huffington Post is out of my bookmarks, now that I've learned they don't pay their writers. They pay in "recognition and exposure" apparently. I can understand some websites doing that, because so many struggle for money. But HuffPo is profitable adn was sold for $35m last year. Ugh, off my list too late to protest.
So now I want another news aggregator to read. I can't handle Raw News for all the ads. I like TYT, but they're all videos. I need something I can breeze through and find out what's going on in the world. Any suggests where I should click to?

(111,255 posts)They're good for most print news.
CNN isn't terrible if something in the US is breaking and the Beeb isn't likely to pick it up for an hour or more. I won't watch them but their site isn't bad.

(6,496 posts)using The Old Reader. I like it because I set it up to auto-hide articles after I've read them. I can also "star" articles I like and want to save for later. I like that The Old Reader strips out the ads and comments.

(3,290 posts)I rarely go there anymore. Their columnists and bloggers are for the most part not worth reading for the crap they write and it has become so unbalanced in its political coverage that I just skip over it. I didn't know about the no pay thing. Thanks, that explains a lot.
Their motto should be "all clickbait, all the time".
I do not like TYT at all they are like "ain't I smart and funny frat boys".
I hope there is some site out there, right now I usually go to the BBC website.

(36,845 posts)Twitter is an excellent source for the latest/breaking news.
You can use your twitter account to aggregate the news based on the sources that you may find valuable (The Guardian, Mother Jones, BBC, The Nation, Democracy Now, Al Jazeera etc). Also, you can look at who these sources are following to flesh out your list.
