My email to a right wing friend. I will update our correspondence.

This guy is not an ignorant redneck. He is well educated. He was a respected airline captain for a major U.S. carrier for many years. We were classmates, and close friends, in our USAF pilot training class many years ago.

I sent him this:
"Amongst the current crop of Republican (ahem) ‘statesmen’, which one do you support?
I’m guessing Trump.
Am I right?
trof"

His reply:
Actually, I don’t like any of them that much, but any of them are better than the criminal or the communist…

"I love Trump’s anti-political correctness. "Political correctness" has created the mess we are in today.

It is nothing less than mind control.

Step 1: Cause people to worry about offending those around them.
Step 2: Once afraid to speak out, then afraid to think.
Step 3: Once afraid to think it, it is never spoken.
Step 4: Control of the public is achieved.

I will vote for Trump in the primary here next week.
Cruz is too religious for my liking, but a Patriot nonetheless. Rubio is a sham and being pushed by the establishment, lightweight material. Kasich, from Ohio, is not even a Republican, not liked in Ohio, weird dude.

If the Convention becomes brokered and Romney throws his hat into the fray, there will be an armed revolution of ex-Republicans.

Trump.
That’s what I thought.
At least you don’t disappoint.

Intellectually, if we can raise the discussion to that level, you do know that there is a smattering of difference between a democratic socialist and a communist, right?
Look it up.

An “armed revolution”? Really?
Repubs mowing down Repubs with Uzis and various other firearms?
That might work to diminish the base.
Surely you jest?

But that raises another question.
Will Open Carry be OK at the convention?
2nd Amendment and all that.
What about Concealed Carry?
I’m just curious.

And I was surprised at how many of them were simultaneously raving conservatives and raving union guys. They never seemed to get the disconnect. There was a small but ardent cabal of liberals, though.

called the president "...that f*cking Muslim n*****" in a conversation with my husband - right before my husband walked away in disgust.

Yeah, I'm not surprised.

A proud union man all his working life, first with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union and then with the Air Line Pilots Association.

How far right was he? Well, he often described his political stance, only half-jokingly, as being "somewhat to the right of Mussolini".

Go figure.

Seriously, what the hell? Political correctness caused all the problems we have today?

Not calling other people names because of their gender, religion or race? Not being allowed to call Mexican or blacks lazy? Not being able to call Jews money-grubbing world-controllers? Not being able to request sex from female subordinates? I know it pains your friend not to be able to put every Muslim in a concentration camp and nuke Mecca and Medina, as I'm sure he thinks his idol will do, but there are at least a handful of Americans who think starting a new Holocaust isn't such a good idea. And while I'm all for enforcing our borders, a giant, unpaid for wall is a pretty fucking stupid and wasteful way to do it. Force all employers to use E-verify and bye-bye illegal immigration. Build a giant wall and they will swim and/or boat around it, or tunnel under it. A giant wall wouldn't have stopped Marco Rubio's parents.

8. "(DRUMPF is anti-) politically correct" = wingnut code for letting-the-racism-OUT

Wingnut/victims claim that political correctness has stifled them. Uh, so *what* is being stifled: Closeted racism. DRUMPF *frees* them to let it all hang out.

It's the same old "Silent Majority" junk. The buzzword is that THE COUNTRY is "ANGRY"!1

Uh, *WHO* is angry - (I say) the same people who HATE a Black president, the TeaBaggers, all the religious Fundamentalists.

It ain't THE COUNTRY who's angry, it's a sliver of the country, who don't accept electoral outcomes.

20 years. We will *NEVER* convince/convert each other. He's civil, polite, warm. One of the frequent questions I've asked him (which he has never answered) is, "How can a DECENT human be a Repuke?"

10. That "criminal or communist" statement is not his. It comes from repuke hate radio fire

breathers like Limbaugh. Dumb ass repukes can't think for themselves when it comes to politics so they depend on Fox Fascist News and Hate Radio for all their talking points.
