So, difficult polling.

See: Michigan

Bernie's best, and likely only chance on Super Tuesday 2, is Missouri.

A new poll suggests Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump are the front-runners ahead of Missouri's primary election March 15, although both candidates' leads fall within the margin of error.

The poll, sponsored by ten Missouri newspapers in partnership with the Docking Institute of Public Affairs, was released today. It is the first statewide poll of Missouri presidential candidate preferences since August, when Scott Walker, Bobby Jindal and Lincoln Chafee were still in the race.

The poll, conducted March 3-10, found voters in the state generally favored Republicans, at least for the purpose of primary voting: 51 percent of respondents planned to pick up a Republican ballot, 36 percent planned to pull a Democratic ballot and 14 percent were undecided.

Of those who planned to choose between Democrats, 47 percent planned to vote for Clinton, 40 percent favored Bernie Sanders and 13 percent were undecided. The margin of error was +/- 8 percentage points.

Trump, Clinton have slight poll leads ahead of Tuesday Missouri primaries

ST. LOUIS • Democrat Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump hold narrow leads in Missouri heading into Tuesday’s presidential primaries, according to a new poll.

The former Secretary of State Clinton leads Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 47 percent to 40 percent, with 13 percent undecided, according to the Docking Institute of Public Affairs Poll for Missouri newspapers.

Among Republicans, the billionaire businessman Trump leads Texas Sen. Ted Cruz 36-29, with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 9 percent and Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 8. A total of 17 percent of Republican poll respondents said they were undecided.

Both leads are barely within the poll’s margins of error, meaning the races potentially are close here.
