Am I alone in thinking this is a dangerous development?

I despise Trump and the rest of the GOP crazy train, and I'm glad that his rally was cancelled ...

However, I am sure there will be a Trumpian response from his crazed fanatics ... Expect to see similar disruptions of Bernie events, with possible tragic results ....

Trump's rhetoric is dangerous, and he has been out of control ... They have been warned numerous times by all quarters that his jingoistic commentaries are dishonorable, but I greatly doubt his followers give a shit ...

Watch your backs out there ....

Partisans will be partisan. I'd only say that this is a hardly unexpected development, but that makes it no less dismaying. I am afraid things will get worse before they get better.

10. There will be more trouble at campaign rallies almost certainly

I am not sure it will be only Bernie rallies. But, confrontations at Bernie rallies will provide for Trump radicals looking like defenders of capitalism against the red-threat. That's very similar to what helped a puffed up little man look like he was defending traditional values about 85 years ago.

5. In all fairness to the students, wasn't Trump's rally on THEIR campus? UNIVERSITY of Illinois.

Since when have students not protested whomever they want to, whenever they wanted to?

The idea that it would work to put a Trump rally on a diverse campus was tone-deafness on an EPIC scale.

OF COURSE the students were going to show up, and do so in great numbers.

12. Agreed: the notable part of the footage is white guys surprised that people are swinging back

You swing on Chicago dudes or bump their face with your yelling ass face, expect to get swung on.

Knuckle game in 312. These suburban and rural Trump folks wasn't ready.

7. How do we know the protesters were really Bernie ppl?

I smell a rat. Real Bernie supporters know that their time and effort is better spent working the phones and knockng on doors, not acting like fools at a Trump rally. This looks like the Brooks Brothers riot in Miami to me... If it works it'll be a great twofer for *someone.* It makes Trump look bad for his violent rhetoric-- and the media is only too happy to jump on it for HOURS with a ready narrative. Next they'll be trying to make Bernie look bad for his *wild and crazy* Berniebros. Oh my....

Who do you think benefits from all this?

9. Well, a previous respondent mentioned these were students iN THEIR school ...

So, it lends the protesters more credibility as legitimately grieved students, who don't want that speech in their own home ...

I get that .... Still, it's getting a bit dicey ...
