If Trump isn't elected, why will his supporters allow anyone else to govern?

Congress already does everything it can to neutralize Obama. After the election there will just be more of them, trained to vent their anger, violent and frustrated. I'm afraid we're entering a period no one will like, no matter who wins in November.

1. Given anyone that tries to govern these days is labeled a liberal then we can assume

they don't vote based on someones ability to govern. Just listen to GOP voters speak these days. Paul Ryan is a liberal because he votes for things like budgets. They vote against disaster relief. They vote against clean water. The only people these voters like are the dumbest tea party members of congress that basically vote against everything except things like getting rid of medicare and ACA. Based on the fact they don't let anyone (even Republicans, good-bye Boehner and Cantor) govern now, we can assume they will not let the next president whoever it is govern.

Trump seems tailor made for this kind of presidency where he simply wantonly cuts taxes, government services, regulations, and starts wars with little vision on paying for them and consequences. Given that's the only presidency they'll allow we can assume that's the presidency Trump would have.

They've been trying to tear down the government since Reagan.
I just wonder what they want to replace it with.

They should do some much needed inner reflection on why their party is now defunct.
And make some mid course corrections.

I do not know if they are capable of this or not.

Bullies are really cowards underneath that bristly exterior.

Those cowardly Nazis managed to kill a lot of innocent people despite their sniveling.

One of the chief themes in what remains of public discussion is the power of the bully: kids bullied by kids in school, teachers being bullied by students, neighbors being bullied by other neighbors, public servants being bullied. The Bully is the Man/Woman of the Hour, and in a celebrity culture that is powerful status. The bullying want stop until people object to it directly and not just "report" somebody, or move their kids to another school, or be content with the punishment of another "sensitivity training session." Frankly, whatever passes for authority today is tired of the complaints about bullies. IMO, they see themselves as powerless arbiters of a two-sided dispute in which the "winners" are those with more power, i.e. bullies.

Note: the OP couched the discussion as one side "allowing" the other. No, you do NOT wait for "allowance." You use your duly-delegated power.

thanks to Trump's near-complete alienation of the Hispanic population, progress will be made in down-ticket races at the state level too.

Trump's supporters are not the majority, regardless of what Trump himself says.

i guess i'm more optimistic than you are.

which was organized enough to get a pack of rabid right-wing, low education (even those with advanced degrees) fundamentalist one-issue small government extremists who are organized enough to form a serious opposition to doing anything at all. I don't see Trump having the coattails to drag any of his bottom feeders into Congress with him, or even into state governments - at least not in 2016. So I don't see Trump getting much support from Congress.
