A good friend has a brother who lives in Texas. She asked him what he thought of Cruz. His assessment:

He is extremely intelligent and extremely dangerous. While Trump may harm the US, Cruz could be capable of tanking the world economy.

Hopefully faced with him, Congress, like Satan forced to assume the attributes of divinity, would check him. And if worst came to worst, perhaps we would remove him from office. We have a functioning democracy.
