It's still just a mild protestation.
All these Democrats - on the "news" - that are switching from Democrats to Republicans so they could vote against Donald Trump in Ohio makes me wonder if they are doing the right thing? Yes, it is a good thing to vote against a tyrant. But, should we help save the Republican Party?
Why not just let the Republicans sort out their own problems? They are a worthless Party anyway. Let them fall down and turn to dust. They serve no useful purpose for our country. They are the major obstruction to any progress this country might need.
Just my opinion...

(3,580 posts)The GOP leadership is weak. It's not our problem at this point. Let chickens come home to roost.

(11,619 posts)a mass change like this for someone they don't support.
It would be interesting to see Demographic data on those who switched.
I do not buy a mass change in registration to vote for a candidate that is easiest to beat.
It would be great to see a breakdown in ethnic origin, gender, and income.

(1,527 posts)I am in OH. (Proud "Berniebot", as I was called on Facebook.) I got more phone calls both bots and out of state canvassers (all real callers were for Bernie) than in any previous election.
The only two postcards I received were for Bernie, None for Hillary. I may have gotten one Trump post card.
Kind of glad it is over for a while.

(23,156 posts)worry about who the Republicans nominate. For any office. Just work very hard to get Dems elected.
Just my opinion.
However, there are states that don't have party registration, and if I understand it correctly, you just get the ballot for whichever party you prefer in the primary. If I lived in a state like that, I might be a lot more flexible about which party I'd primary for.
In Kansas, where I used to live, many Democrats register as Republicans so they can vote in the primary, and then don't quite understand why it's so hard to get people to run as Democrats for various offices.
