http://us.blastingnews.com/news/2016/03/donald-trump-volunteers-forced-to-sign-contract-preventing-lifetime-criticism-against-him-00837719.htmlRepublican front runner Donald Trump has become a polarizing figure on the campaign trail. While Trump's campaign has been marred by controversy and violence at recent rallies, new information reveals how he as locked in his volunteers for the foreseeable future.
Protests have increased at Trump events over the last three weeks, with one rally in Chicago being canceled due to "security concerns." The billionaire real estate mogul has accused the protesters of being sent from the Bernie Sanders campaign in an attempt to suppress his free speech. In a cruel sense of irony, a leaked contract from the Trump campaign pulls the curtain back on what it's like to work for the GOP front runner.
As Mother Jones reported on March 15, a Trump volunteer contract was obtained by the Daily Dot. The contract is required for volunteers to join the campaign, which forbids them from criticizing or voicing a negative opinion about Trump, his businesses, and family for the rest of their lives. Going even further, the contract holds the signee liable if their employee also make negative comments about the former host of "The Apprentice."
After thorough review, the Daily Dot notes that the six page contract would likely not be able to hold up if it was brought to a court of law. "I don't see how this stands up," New York lawyer David Perry told the Daily Dot, stating, "I don't see how a court enforces this."

(5,141 posts)2. Not that I'm a Trump fan
But non-disparagement clauses are fairly standard in employment contracts. I'm assuming his attorneys just did a cut and paste for whatever this is.
ETA- it would be difficult to enforce this, I think the hope is it will keep some people from mouthing off with the mere threat of legal action.

(5,141 posts)4. I agree it's stupid to make volunteers sign this shit
But Trump is a litigious, disrespectful asshole who probably thinks that volunteers should pay him.
I'm not surprised in the least that he thinks this is okay.

(10,952 posts)7. That may be true but it is not typical for a contract
like this to hold the signee liable for what the signee's employees say about Trump. (if the signee is an employer).

"He's not so bad for such a dumb fug."
Would that be regarded as a negative opinion?
