Trump might fall short of the majority required, enabling the party's establishment to put forward another name at the July convention in Cleveland to formally pick its candidate.
In an interview with CNN on Wednesday, Trump said the party could not deny him the nomination should he fail to win enough delegates.
"I don't think you can say that we don't get it automatically. I think you'd have riots. I think you'd have riots. I'm representing many, many millions of people."

(4,176 posts)Trump would not hesitate to incite deadly riots were he denied, even if he mostly did it for his own entertainment (important to remember he is a psychopath and a very dangerous man).
What happens if he is forced out?
Does he do the third party routine?

(82,849 posts)Note carefully what Trump is saying: If he wins the nomination because he has the majority of delegates when he gets to Cleveland, everything will be jake. But even if he doesn't have a majority of the delegates, he still wants the nomination because the alternative is insurrection, riots in the streets.
Your move, Republican National Committee. Even if you follow the rules as they stand now, Donald Trump has claimed the nomination regardless. And he has called for his followers to riot if he doesn't get his way.
