Kalamazoo Uber driver accused of killing six people suing app-based taxi service for $10 million
BY DAVID BOROFF NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Updated: Wednesday, March 16, 2016, 4:17 PM
The Kalamazoo Uber driver accused of killing six people is now suing the app-based taxi service for $10 million, claiming "I'm currently in prison because of Uber."
Jason Dalton moans that Uber forced him to work long hours with no overtime and claims that he was not invited to corporate parties, according to the hand-written lawsuit obtained by the Daily News. Dalton also complains of getting calls late at night.
Calling Uber a "hostile workplace environment," Dalton charged in the lawsuit that they "made me work when I was sick and didn't let me spend time with my 2 children."
"I had to pay my own gas and I hit lots of potholes and Uber would not fix my Chevy Equinox," he wrote in his messy handwriting.
The deranged 45-year-old Dalton has told cops that his cellphone was controlling him last month as he drove across the Michigan city and fatally shot six people at random. Two others were wounded.

(27,808 posts)1. I'm no fan of Uber, but.....
I can see why they didn't invite him to their corporate parties.

"Sharing economy?" Businesses like Uber take their share and yours as well.
Meanwhile, you are making them rich by working for less than minimum wage after you pay all the expenses.
Just another way to screw working people.

(27,808 posts)3. I completely agree. AirBnB too....
I refer to it as the "sharecropping" economy, a term I learned on a depressing Facebook page about Vanishing San Francisco.

all the years I used Windows ( before I had the sense to change to Linux) Gates never once invited me to any corporate parties.
