That is, the ones who actually carry out the fatal missions, like the 2 brothers in Belgium.
Here in the US, they'd be classified as "Losers."
Unemployed or working at shit jobs, long criminal records for piddly crimes like vandalism and petty theft.
What does ISIS offer them?
Money. Usually.

(24,761 posts)Their crimes are terrorism. That's the only difference between terrorist organizations and drug cartels: the crimes they commit.
The best way to prevent terrorism, just like any other crime, is to intervene with kids before they have a chance to live a life of terrorism: a good education, good job opportunities, etc. And that includes putting an end to discriminatory practices and mass unemployment that gives rise to terrorists by taking away the reason they join terrorist groups to begin with: despair and no prospects for a future as a contributing member of society. This holds true whether it be terrorists in the ME and Europe, drug cartels in Latin America, or street gangs here in the US.

(36,418 posts)The majority of ISIS funding comes from sources in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. Just like Al-Qaeda and the Taliban before them. So, one also has to ask, why are these very same terrorist bankers and spy masters our "allies"? Why are we doing their bidding?
