There's no telling which is worse. But either Trump or Cruz will probably end up as the Republican nominee for president. And, given the strangeness of this election season, one of them could possibly end up in the White House.
That thought goes beyond scary and touches down into total terror territory.
Imagine either one of them with control of the American military machine and having their finger on "the button."
Odds are that Hillary or Bernie will be our next president. But what if that doesn't happen? What if either Trump or Cruz ends up in the White House?
I don't have a crystal ball. And neither does any pundit. All I can say is keep your passport up to date. There is a similarity between today's America and Germany of the 1930s. The comparisons aren't exact. But the possible outcomes could be.
And no, I'm not being an alarmist. I know what hatred looks like and where it can lead. And right now, I fear for our country and the people of this world.
Perhaps you disagree. All I can say is get your head out of the sand and look around. When was the last time you remember so many haters publicly proclaiming their hatred?
This time around, it's really different.

But I have not yet given up hope. Perhaps, to some degree, that makes me an idiot.
