Andrea Mitchell rips Trump’s foreign policy scam: ‘He’s uneducated about any part of the world’

http://www.rawstory.com/2016/03/andrea-mitchell-rips-trumps-foreign-policy-scam-hes-uneducated-about-any-part-of-the-world/

MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell warned on Sunday GOP front-runner Donald Trump was hiding the fact that he was “completely uneducated about any part of the world.”

“It is remarkable,” Mitchell told Meet the Press host Chuck Todd. “And when he doesn’t know something, he just changes the subject, and makes it all about himself.”

“On national security, it’s very noticeable, especially to your ears and mine,” Todd agreed.

“Absolutely. And this was a week where he could have gone after President Obama, arguably,” Mitchell noted. “There’s a lot happening, and the president has some vulnerabilities, so does Hillary Clinton. But instead, he’s all over the lot.”

Your candidate is a bit too hawkish for my tastes, especially since that sad day when I found out through one of her released emails that she convinced a reluctant Obama to bomb Libya and do a regime change there.

Gosh, that worked out real well, didn't it?

extended and anomalous drought sent many rural dwellers to the capital, where the government responded with brutal force to their initially peaceful protests demanding assistance, so that peaceful protesters became less peaceful.

Eventually, of course, the religious fanatics took over the protest/resistance movement, and then the US started blindly arming anyone and everyone that the politicians could imagine (or pretend) were "freedom fighters" (like the Contras were "freedom fighters"--right).

Then the jihadis who had taken over some of the resistance groups morphed into ISIS, with organizing and strategizing expertise provided by bitter former Iraqi army officers who had been abruptly dumped and left seething and without position, honor, or income after the US invaded Iraq.

Ta-Da!
"Six degrees of Kevin Climate Change."

On Edit: Do I need to point out that the influx of Syrian refugees into Europe, the sexual assaults on women, and the most recent Isis inspired or claimed terrorist attacks in Europe can also be traced back to the Syrian civil war (and, of course, also to the ill-considered and illegal US invasion of Iraq in 2003)?

in which the terrorists specifically claimed to be acting on behalf of ISIS (though they might just have been "ISIS inspired&quot . Even our San Bernadino terrorists were just ISIS inspired rather than actual ISIS.

My point is that it is wrong to scoff at Bernie for linking some terrorism and the current refugee crisis (plus its consequences) to climate change, because climate change is definitely not just a factor, but a major factor.

In fact, his awareness of these connections suggests a deep understanding that is all too often missing in the way our usual suspects--oops, I mean leaders--think of foreign policy.

The questions to be asked is did Trump back Bush and Cheney in the creation of ISIL and other Terrorist groups? What they said, what the government of Grenada said, under Maurice Bishop is that they wanted to forge their own way. And they were overthrown by the United States government. In Nicaragua, you have a government which has...came to power and I believe has tried to do the right thing for its people in terms of health care, land reform, education.

If you trace the history of the United States vis a vis Latin America and Central America, there has never been a time where a country made a revolution for the poor people where it was not overthrown by the CIA or the United States government, or the marines. Salvador Allende was democratically elected by the people of Chile. He made the mistake of believing that his job as president of that country was to represent the people of Chile. And he did his best. And he was overthrown by the CIA.

So the interesting question is why does the United States government think, whether its Nicaragua or any other country in Latin or Central America that it has the right to overthrow those governments?

But at least I can tell you a little bit about what's going on the world . Besides the recent terror attacks in Brussels and Pakistan, there's still the China building their artificial islands in the disputed Spartley region in the South China Sea, so now the entire region is asking the US to keep a good naval presence there . If the US were to adopt The Donald " America First" mindset, Japan and South Korea would practically see the alliance dissolved and left to fend for themselves . China and North Korea would have a field day taking their revenge on Japan

If you think the current trade arrangements are hurting the US economy, which all the major candidates in both parties agree, as well as big majorities of voters (both parties), it is insane for the US to be subsidizing the seurity of such a system.

These days, their job is to promote the spectacle, no matter the harm done to the body politic.

Even the CEO of CBS said publicly that Trump is "hurting America," but is great for business.

Tue Mar 29, 2016, 11:27 AM
Mar 2016
Trump’s new world

So what has he suggested that even vaguely applies to U.S. foreign policy? First, as one panelist noted, it is a lot harder and more time-consuming to abrogate international security agreements that the U.S. has already signed than it is to institute new economic policies not based on treaties.

So we’d assume that a President Trump would introduce the 45 percent tariff he promised against China more quickly than, say, pull American forces out of Europe. The new tariffs would roil global financial markets. And it’s not just the one percent whom Trump’s supporters despise who would suffer as their assets shrank. So would every other person saving for retirement.

President Trump tells us he would pull American military support for Europe so that the Europeans pay for their own defense. He has no interest in NATO, he says, signaling the end of the western alliance that has been the bedrock of collective defense and stability in Europe for seven decades. Presumably, his new friends the Russians would be overjoyed at this prospect, given that there would then be no effective military force between Moscow and Paris.

Having destroyed America’s economic relationship with China, removed any barriers to Russian bullying of Europe, and reduced America’s engagement in the Middle East, we would have a very different global environment.

http://theconversation.com/president-trumps-foreign-policy-dystopia-56642

Of course, everyone says that they really have no idea what Trump will do. He may mean what he says now or could just be pandering to his base. He may be a great deal negotiator or just a great treaty-breaker.

She's good enough for starters, so now this needs to build steam and roll all these Repuke clowns starting with DRUMPF right out of this absurd freak show going on.
