Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe Media is throwing up their hands, "It wasn't us who created Trump".
It's appalling that the media as a whole are acting as innocent bystanders in the in media monster known as Trump. Here's a clip from award winning journalist Eugene Robinson. It could not be more tone deaf!
The media created Trump storyline ignores the fact that the mainstream media are about as popular among the Republican base as the Zika virus. And the one exception, Fox News, has been tougher on Trump than other outlets, not more accommodating. Chris Wallace, the host of Fox News Sunday, has long refused to let Trump call in. And anchor Megyn Kelly, with her sharp questioning and commentary, seems to have driven the blowhard billionaire up the wall.
It is true that Trump delivers huge television ratings and lots of website clicks. But thats irrelevant. News organizations have to cover the leading candidates, even if theyre dull as dishwater.

Over the last couple of years I've read several articles basically talking about how global elites are losing control. While I think some of those accusations are eye roll worthy, I am beginning to become a believer in the message as a whole. I bet that I cannot find one person on DU that doesn't believe that Fox News did not create Trump.
I call pox on all their houses!

there -- a location, like "over there"
their -- possessive, as in "their hands"
they're -- a contraction of "they are"
Easy peasy, my friend.
I apologize again.

My secret. Proofread. (I prefer after posting, since the iPhone can throw out ones post before it's posted. Hence, multiple edits.)

(10,857 posts)They are specifically playing the role of the "liberal media" in order to lend credence to Trump's bullshit. Amusingly, because of their abysmal track record, they have to do it by temporarily improving their journalism.
Ignorant American rednecks gravitate in the direction of disinformation when it is refuted by a "liberal" source. Fox knows exactly what it's doing, for once, and I'm sure it's paying off in increased revenue and a circus candidacy.

Considering the sum of the IQ's of the reporters may actually be negative, they're doing one hell of a job making sure he gets lots of commercials free of charge.
