Goodness they're frothy.
And they are super-passionate about defending the besieged rights of the oppressed white male.
Frothy.

(63,209 posts)He fancies himself a crusader for justice (i.e., a return to the days then white males didn't have to be bothered to acknowledge women or minorities).
I've had a lot of heated arguments with gun advocates here on DU, but even the most vocally devoted of them are in an entirely different league from this kind of Trump booster. It's like they literally can't survive without publicly fondling their guns (physically or verbally or both) at least several times an hour.
Yikes.

(3,788 posts)Husband's uncle plus his son and grandsons(cousins) had a family portrait around a Trump lawn sign on Easter and posted it on FB. ...they're nice to me but it tells me a lot about them by supporting him-I'm pretty sure it's due to race/immigrants.

(24,461 posts)Of all the butthole politicians to get anger mismanaged over, why pick TRUMP? The sumbitch is spewing vaporware.

(24,461 posts)Of course, everyone to the left of Lieberturd is a "liberal" to them.
On that logic, "My Drunk Uncles 2016!!"

(63,209 posts)Another friend (very Liberal, but not comfortable asserting her views) lamented the hatred on display at Trump rallies.
So the fragile Trumpeter immediately responded with "so all older, white, gun-owning males are hateful? Guess it's ok to be racist, sexist, and discriminatory if you're a Liberal, right?"
In response, I called him out as a cry-baby who's never actually faced racism, sexism or discrimination.
He claimed that he doesn't hate anyone. "Well, almost no one, but Liberals don't count."
It's funny that his type will whine about people playing the "victim card" (or the "race card" , but they can't wait to use it themselves when they think it serves their purpose.

(82,849 posts)What, specifically, is your zealot on about? Loss of status? Loss of income? Loss of privilege? Terrorists? Affordable health care, and no longer being able to look forward to having his claim denied because of a pre-existing condition?
Take him at his word, and take his grievances as seriously as you can. Then pose the question: What do you think Donald Trump will do to address your problem? Remember, Trump was born to wealth and privilege and the system as currently constituted guarantees that he'll be on top of the heap for the rest of his life. What, specifically, do you think Trump will do to help you, knowing that his actions might endanger his cushy berth?

(63,209 posts)It boil down to the perceived threat to his privilege, though he would certainly never characterize it that way.
He's the standard delusional boot-strapper, meaning that he imagines that he's achieved everything in life by sole virtue of his own noble efforts, without any help from the gubmint.
They'd be sad if their hatred weren't so potentially destructive.
