On the train to Zurich going home I spoke to two young Europeans who asked us about drumpf

They couldn't believe he is winning and asked why Americans would consider such a hate monger. We told them there are a lot of uneducated Americans who don't realize they are being duped by a con man. For about 1 1/2 hours we had this spirited discussion. Little did I realize that all the other passengers around us were listening to these two Americans who were horrified by drumpf. When we pulled into the station they passed us and said good luck to you two.

to foreigners. It's hard enough to explain it to other Americans.

I was visiting a friend and lived there for several months.

It was amazing how much the Swiss knew about American politics--more so than many Americans. In fact, it was embarrassing!

It's amazing how Europeans take an interest in the politics of America. Many of them know more about what is going on politically in our country than many Americans living here do.

It doesn't work the other way around. Most Americans don't care about the politics of Europe or the individual countries. It is quite embarrassing.

on a map. My elderly mother likes to watch the game show "Wheel of Fortune," and I sometimes watch with her. One night recently the puzzle read something like "Canals in Venice." After the puzzle was solved, the host asked the contestant in which country Venice is located. The dumbass hesitated, then said "Paris?" and finally settled on France.

Never ever underestimate the sheer ignorance of the average American.

So its legitimate that the world should be very interested in our politics. What happens to the US happens to the world. US citizens take this for granted and so have been sleepwalking and just trying to survive on a day to day basis.

could support someone so racist, ranting, and clearly lacking in international awareness. I shake my head, explaining that we have no real media here, and much of his popularity has been created like a reality TV show.
