Fox News: "Cut Trump some slack. He has no political experience!"

http://mediamatters.org/video/2016/03/31/fox-hosts-excuse-trumps-abortion-comments-becau/209647

So, Trump got a question about abortion... and it ended badly. What conclusions does Fox News draw from that?

DOOCY: He only became a politician about six or seven months ago. This is new for him.

EARHARDT: Yeah, which is why people like him. People like him because he's learning as he goes and he's not the establishment.

That's his thing. Had someone write a book about it too. Yet he clearly can't carry on a discussion in public (2 days in a row - CNN and MSNBC) without people laughing at him because he doesn't do well in the general public.

Knows that you need to be prepared for questions on a wide variety of topics when you put yourself out there for an elected office. Trump is not a newbie to how things go in this arena. Our system has worked this way for as long as there have been candidates and an eager press with a deadline. So to excuse his not knowing this is just grasping at straws for an explanation.

He is exactly the kind of person who thinks he is so smart that he truly believes he can just go by the seat of his designer, only the best silk, pants. You could literally see the wheels spinning in his head during that interview as he struggled to find an answer that he thought would fit the persona he is projecting. There were long pauses, hemming and hawing and those famously pursed lips. For this particular question he pitched an answer that he thought sounded tough and rational. The fact that he insulted women on BOTH sides of the issue was a feat achieved by few politicians. Congratulations, Trump. Welcome to the real world.

I wonder if he'd have similar forgiveness for other professions: "He Only Became A Brain Surgeon About Six Or Seven Months Ago. This Is New For Him". But after all, who'd want an "establishment" surgeon working on them?

"He only missed the runway by a few feet. After all, he's a new pilot. He's never practiced on a simulator, he's learning as he goes.

Yes, but he has been a con man all of his life.

Sure, let's put him in the highest office in the land and see how it goes.

I wonder if Fox News hires executives for the corner office suites on the same basis?
