How does a shy ex-model make her way from Slovenia to, just maybe, the White House? To Melania Trumpand to the people who know her back homeher journey to marrying The Donald is like a fairy tale, or a too-crazy-to-believe rom-com. Its a story full of naked ambition, stunning beauty, a shockingly Trump-like dad, and even some family secrets. Maybe shes made for Washington after all.

Obediently, she teetered out onto the stage on vertiginous Louboutins, a long-legged doll in a summery dress the color of sea foam. She was unseasonably tan, clearly comfortable in this role: being admired as a specimen of physical beauty. She began by reading from the remarks waiting for her at the podium, a list shed compiled of her husbands attributes. Hes a hard worker. Hes kind. He has a great heart. Hes tough. Hes smart. Hes a great communicator. Hes a great negotiator. Hes telling the truth. Hes a great leader. Hes fair.
The speechall short, declarative sentencessounded like it had been written by her son as a homework assignment but quickly got to what sounded like recess talk. As you may know by now, when you attack him, he will punch back ten times harder, she said loudly, firmly, and to wild applause. No matter who you are, a man or a woman. He treats everyone equal.
To Melanias right, the presidential aspirant, the equal-opportunity puncher, nodded approvingly. Maybe Melania hadnt wanted any of this a year agohadnt wanted her husband to run, hadnt wanted all the prying scrutiny, hadnt wanted to become a politicians wife. But here she was, taking the strangeness of life in her long, tan stride. She smiled, tautly, like a sphinx and beheld the throng before her. She was proud of her husband. He had a great heart.

After reading this article, Donald Trump's supporters and his wife seem to be just as thin-skinned as Donald Trump. It is likely his supporters are actually more stupid and easily lead than thin-skinned in that they most likely did not actually read the article.
After the article, which was written for GQ, was published Melania Trump went to Facebook to claim the article was a hit piece against her family. With the exception of a few spaces the article only gave mild criticism of Melania Trump. The worst thing that was said about Mrs. Trump came in the second to last paragraph, when the author claimed Mrs. Trump's speech sounded like it had been written by her elementary school aged son. In other paragraphs, Mrs. Trump was given an opportunity to respond to just about everything people said about her. Most people would say the article was mainly a puff piece. Many would likely say the article painted her as the second coming of Jackie Kennedy and a good girl who has hardly done anything wrong. I have a hard time seeing why Melania Trump attempted to find fault with the author and the article.
