4. Tried and true GOP tactic: instead of battling a multitude

of issues or battling an issue with many complex aspects, they simplify and boil down the conversation to a single component and then proceed to either rehabilitate that narrow issue or make it so gray and confused that it can't be part of reasonable public discourse.

As a candidate, Trump is flawed in many, many ways. It looks to me like GOP leaders and pundits are themselves making a big deal out of the judge issue as if to wrap all his flaws up into this one 'mistake'...and when he appears to rehabilitate himself with respect to Curiel, all the other issues will be diminished as well.
