Florida Gov. Scott responds to question "what can the rest of us do?" with "Pray."

Pray for this, pray for that. Not a word about more strongly supporting the fight against homophobia, not a word about supporting an assault weapons ban.

The most we who are horrified about this tragedy can do is... pray.

I'm not knocking prayer. I am pointing out the travesty of not looking at what action we can take that will have a direct preventive impact on this. Advocacy can make a difference. So can voting.

On edit: CNN just reporting that he was known to be homophobic.

I'm sick of it.

To me it's becoming an excuse to sit and do nothing, yet still feel good about oneself.

Since we totally missed the boat on curbing violence, we might as well hope some deity resurrects the victims we failed to protect in the first place.

I AM praying because I have LGBT family and friends in the Orlando area. But that's personal. As a member of society I say FUCK prayer and do something

Pray that it won't happen again? I think that many did that after Sandy Hook and here we are. It's the GUNS!

on him this morning in the club.

So in this case apparently the screening process was inadequate. No word yet on the legality of the assault weapon.
