Pray for this, pray for that. Not a word about more strongly supporting the fight against homophobia, not a word about supporting an assault weapons ban.
The most we who are horrified about this tragedy can do is... pray.
I'm not knocking prayer. I am pointing out the travesty of not looking at what action we can take that will have a direct preventive impact on this. Advocacy can make a difference. So can voting.
On edit: CNN just reporting that he was known to be homophobic.

To me it's becoming an excuse to sit and do nothing, yet still feel good about oneself.

So in this case apparently the screening process was inadequate. No word yet on the legality of the assault weapon.
