I was responding to the OP. Trying to play games with semantics whilst making no point at all.

I don't really give a flying fuck what you call a rifle that uses high capacity detachable magazines - they are a fetish item that does more harm than good in the civilian population.

But how would you limit magazine capacity? Many pistols have magazines that hold up to 18 rounds. Even California and Maryland permit 10 round magazines.

That way the insecure guys who love to pose with their long....guns....can still feel all masculine and such.

BS like this is the main reason it was such a stupid law. Just ban the gun; don't regulate how it looks.

What is an assault weapon? The rifle used is the same rifle that is used in hunting, sport shooting, etc. It is NOT used by any military. Throwing around ill-defined terms like "assault weapon" is simple fear-mongering based on lack of facts.

There is a SIMPLE modification to the ar15 that turns it into a fully automatic weapon.
go fondle your guns, and keep your lies.
And before you call ME a liar, I've seen the mechanism that can be very simply modified.
because I trained on the m16.
so, be respectful as all you gun humpers are so worshipful to vets.
unless we disagree with you, that is.

My definition, for instance, does not involve the capacity to fire fully automatically. Most of the world's militaries agree with me.

It's a semi and/or full automatic rifle, easy to operate and easy to modify, designed primarily for untrained/inexperienced soldiers for use at short-to-medium range.

This "but it wasn't fully auto" thing is fairly new argument first floated by the NRA to distract from the issues.

And yes: we are all aware that most killings aren't committed with rifles of any kind.
