The Biggest Anti-LGBT Crime in American History

That's what this is.

This is the LGBT community's 9/11.

I woke up late this morning on the West Coast and groggily couldn't figure out why my phone had apparently melted over night.

Devastation.

And the mad scramble to contact all my Florida friends to make sure they were safe. They were. But too many of them knew the dead and the injured.

The LGBT community is both vast and small. We are everywhere and we all know each other in some way.

This is wrecking us.

I got up and read LBN and was floored. It was a reminder, one that I and others here have repeatedly said, the GLBT community is vulnerable and hate against us is real and deadly.

I hope people will remember the victims...the GAY...LESBIAN...BISEXUAL...TRANSGENDER...ALLIED VICTIMS and not spin off in tangents leaving us in the dust grieving our dead.

People need to recognize this is an act of HOMOPHOBIA...it is an attack on the GLBT community. This is an act of terrorism against the LGBT people!

And if I see one more person claim the shooter is a "secret gay" I think I may fucking lose it! HOMOPHOBES ARE HOMOPHOBES because they hate gay people, not because they themselves are "struggling" with their sexuality. I am sure it is the case for a few, but guess what people, MOST HOMOPHOBES are that way because they HATE and REVILE gay people NOT because they want to be us!

Homophobia KILLS!

And I swear to god, if I see one person suggest the murderer was secretly gay, I will go full tombstone.

It is Pride month.

The fact we can be happy and alive is just too much for some people.

The most blatant one was actually hidden 4-3. I was shocked. I have seen all kinds of excuses including someone calling this "blowback" for the creation of Israel and support since, as well as ME wars. So, be prepared!

At some point, this shit, and the apologizing for it, becomes unacceptable.

I won't accept faux solidarity here. Not now. Not on this.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I only wish I could do or say something more meaningful.

I have friends who are cast members at Disney World, so I immediately freaked out about them when I saw the news. They're ok, but they know the dead.

It's overwhelming. Their world is crashing down, they're devastated, wrecked.

I think, in a world of marriage equality, a lot of us thought this was ending. And then this happens, and it's a shock. A lot of us thought we were past this age of shit. But there are still thorns. I'm a positive gay. I always tell my distressed friends, "I know it sucks now, but it always gets better."

Then this happens, and I have no comfort to offer.

Thank you again, Cali. You're one of my favorite posters.

Friends are alive. I'm sure they aren't okay. Blessings love and condolences to the family and friends of the victims in Orlando and the LGBT COMMUNITY.

They're hurting like crazy today. I was supposed to walk out the door an hour ago, but I can't, because they're a mess online. So I'm trying to be here for them as best as I can do from California.

God, this hurt. I haven't seen this, literally, since 9-11.

This is our worst tragedy since 9/11. I hurt for your friends. Take care of yourself.
