Homeland Security should investigate the NRA as an arms supplier to terrorists.

If the NRA uses its influence to prohibit the government from denying weapons to terrorists, then the NRA is aiding terrorism in the same fashion that Iran aids terrorists.

The NRA is a lobbying body. It doesn't decide who does or does not get to purchase firearms. And which terrorists exactly did the NRA enable? The Orlando shooter wasn't on any terrorist watch list.

By lobbying directly to stop legislation, they are indeed deciding that people who have been identified as terrorists can still purchase guns.

Defeated. You do realize that the NRA really doesn't get a vote in either the house or senate, right?

I'd be more interested in knowing which "terrorists" purchased a gun because of a law the NRA passed or defeated.

Doing so is abuse of power, and is illegal.

You can not send government agencies after an organization you disagree with. The NRA has a legal rigth to lobby congress. And congress has a legal right to vote how they want.

Furthermore I think even suspected terrorist are entitled to due process. I don't think a secret government list should be able take away peoples freedom.

If somebody is a suspected terrorist, let the FBI make their case in front of a judge. Allow the accused to defend himself. Make the process transparent. Give the accused the right to appeal. I don't see the problem with that.

Your post gives me visions on the KGB going after any political organization that disagrees with them, and that is not the country I want to live in. Lets not open up pandoras box. Maybe a republican gets in the white house, and decides that abortion is murder. Can we then send the FBI after planned parenthood. Is this the road you want to start going down?

The U.S. govt has investigated several groups over the years because of their philosophy.

Well said; best to keep in mind, the people we like won't always be in power. You really want a republican administration deciding who's on a secret (i.e. no due process) terror list again, only this time, it includes mainstream political groups?

How can anyone NOT disagree with this? Hate the NRA, fine. But don't throw away the constitution to stop something you "just don't like".

After all, all that controversial and downright hateful speech they enable is what's basically keep terrorism afloat! In for a penny, in for a pound.

Hyperbole. Now available as a fun alternative to serious political discourse.

even in restricted places such as courthouses.

No bill would have overcome that, not even ones opposed by the NRA.
