Man fatally shot in accident during class at Ohio gun shop
AMELIA, Ohio (AP) Officials say a man has been fatally shot in an apparent accident during a concealed carry class at a gun shop in Ohio.
The Clermont County sheriff says the unidentified man was shot in the neck around 1 p.m. Saturday and died at the scene. There were about 10 people in the concealed carry class when the shooting occurred at KayJay Gun Shop in Amelia, about 20 miles east of Cincinnati.
According to the gun shops website, the class taught basic pistol safety, gave attendees range time and reviewed Ohios gun laws.

Why is it that publishing a "empty" article quickly is more important than publishing a full and accurate article?

(21,691 posts)I'd possibly fault the range master but certainly not the victim. I say "possibly" in case the range master did check to make sure every gun was unloaded and the student reloaded surreptitiously; otherwise, FAULT.

(1,098 posts)..and I know there is a certain amount of irony in me defending this man, seeing how much I usually rage against firearms.
The reality is, he wasn't shot and killed through his own negligence. In fact, he wasn't even shot and killed through the negligence of someone in the same room.
He was sitting in an adjacent room, and one of the students forgot to clear his weapon before engaging in the lessons. That student pulled the trigger, and the bullet passed through the wall and hit the owner in the neck.
