This idea that Americans can't be an Islamic terrorist is BS

I have no idea where is came from, but it's flat out wrong and there is ample evidence to the contrary. And it's a dangerous mindset.

Read through this and then get back to me as to why someone is magically exempt from committing acts of terror in the name of radical Islam, simply based on their birthplace.

The first thing they shout is 'he was born here'.

To which I say, so what? What special status does that extend as opposed to someone born in, say, Afghanistan?

That's the context I usually hear it in. As a counter to the bullshit idea that all our problems would be solved if we banned Muslim immigrants.

not really a terrorist. Not an authentic one anyway.

It completely downplays the threat, as it's intended to do.

By his actions.

Definitely a terroristic act.

(That does not mean I think he is an Islamic terrorist, jury is still out on that aspect)

I haven't noticed that at all.

And have you ever looked at the risk to the average American from terrorism? It's a matter of basic math. People are tens of thousands of times more likely to die in their cars or in their own home from an accident than from a terrorist attack.

is silly. We can't stop it using the immigration system.

It has also morphed into something that can happen anywhere. Apparently the idea we could fight them over there and stop them from coming over here was wrong.

The operative word thus appears to be the word islamic whether imported, home grown, American born, immigrated etc. , so of course as in Orlando, an American can certainly be an islamic terrorist just as well as one of the 9/11 hijackers, or the San Bernadino couple, or the Boston bomber duo, or the DC sniper duo. Bad part is they're (ISIS) is just warming up it appears.

There is no evidence that Muteen's claims of allegiance are anything more than simple attention-seeking BS by an asshole who wanted to go out in as shocking a way as possible.

IS and AQ are sworn enemies of each other, an actual militant would not say he supports both.
