Father Reportedly Refused To Claim Orlando Shooting Victim’s Body Because He Was Gay

http://www.newnownext.com/father-reportedly-refused-to-claim-orlando-shooting-victim-because-he-was-gay/06/2016/

The names of the victims of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub are known; their bodies have been released to their next of kin for burial.

But in a cruel twist that highlights the bigotry so many in the LGBT community still face, one parent reportedly refused to claim the corpse of his gay son, because he disapproved of his homosexuality.

Orlando Latino reports that family members in Orlando agreed to claim the body of the young Puerto Rican man, whose name is being kept private, and gave him a proper burial.

“The tale is part of the untold stories of the Latino victims of the Pulse nightclub massacre,” writes Maria Padilla, who says the blog confirmed the story with several sources.

I think this event will force a lot of people to reexamine their long-held feelings on this matter.

I've personally hated all of 3 people in my 45 years of life, I cannot imagine hatred of the order people like the father and son exhibit. It is disturbing.

and Italian. He died in Las Vegas on a pleasure trip from a seizure as a result of life long epilepsy.

His family in Italy refused to accept his body because he was gay. Myself and his ex-lover raised funds to get him home here in Texas and give him a proper burial. It was awful. He was in the morgue in Clark County for almost 30 days before we had enough funds raised to get him home.

It's been a few years but I am still saddened by this.

Parents will literally never talk to their child again. It's so fucked up it doesn't seem human.

How about because he killed all those innocents?

The father is at the root of the problem in many ways.
