Mike Lee (R-UT) hasn't endorsed Trump yet. He says that's partly because Trump accused the father of his "best friend," Ted Cruz, of conspiring to murder JFK.
However, Mike Lee says he will endorse Trump if they talk and Trump reassures him that he believes in the Constitution.
We can get into the fact that he accused my best friends father of conspiring to kill JFK. We can go through the fact that hes made statements that some have identified correctly as religiously intolerant. We can get into the fact that hes wildly unpopular in my state, in part because my state consists of people who are members of a religious minority church. A people who were ordered exterminated by the governor of Missouri in 1838. And, statements like that make them nervous.
But I'll get over it if Trump assures me "he'll be a vigorous defender for the US Constitution."

(82,849 posts)I thought this election was about the future of the United States; turns out it's all about Sen. Lee and his delicate sensibilities. Just tell the Senator what he wants to hear, Mr. Trump, and he'll be out there endorsing the hell out of you!
