The corpse flower opened - yesterday

UPDATE: The corpse flower has started its bloom cycle as of 3:30 p.m., Thursday, July 28! We will remain open 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 29 and 30, to accommodate the bloom!

that bloomed while my oldest daughter was there.

I remember her telling me that the smell was putrid.

They attract insects that feed on decaying flesh. They are their pollinators.
