I have a question. Has this Congress don anything in the last 8 years?

Have they managed to take care of any business at all?

Or have they just been wholly focused on stopping everything? Something that it sounds like they plan on continuing to do.

1. Yes, the first two years when the Dems had Congress quite a few things

were done including the Affordable Care Act. The last six years--the only thing they have tried to do is repeal that act.

2. I just don't understand how they stay in power.

And I wish they would all just go away.

There are so many important things that need to be taken care of right now and they just sit and do nothing. And get paid for it.

5. Rs put everything into getting congress/senate seats elected. Their tactics work very well.

gerrymandering districts, dividing/baiting Ds to attack their own Ds running in election work very well to elect Rs.

3. Every Congress does things.

Most of the bills, you don't hear about. A more apt question would be if they have done anything productive about the issues that most interest their constituents.

For one thing, we've had 8 years of budgets passed, as contentious as they have been. The bureaucracy keeps functioning, although the engine sputters quite a bit recently.

4. Obama's first four years brought ACA

Then the Republicans took control and since then, NOTHING!

6. 1. They collected over a million dollars in salary apiece,

2. Most of them got re-elected, and
3. They made some really good lobbying connections, in case #2 didn't work out.

What ELSE are they there for?

7. They have done nothing for the majority of U.S.

And yet all we hear from them is that the country is going in the wrong direction.

Someone on DU pointed out that they have controlled both houses in Congress, 34 Governorship and most States houses.

Gee, what could be wrong?
