Ohio Democratic Party: Different leadership, same results

I thought we would see some improvement in marketing statewide Democratic candidates in 2016 after previous Ohio Democratic Party Chair Chris Redfern was ousted following the disastrous 2014 elections that culminated a series of disastrous elections for the party.

So far in the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Republican Rob Portman and Democratic Challenger Ted Strickland, I'm seeing pro-Portman PACs continuously attack Strickland with their disingenuous ads about how 350,000 jobs left Ohio and the state's Rainy Day Fund was depleted during Strickland's term as governor 2006-10.

There has been no retaliation to inform people that THE ENTIRE NATION was losing jobs during that time, thanks to the Bush/Cheney recession that was the worst this nation had seen since the Great Depression. But, during the rare time I watch TV in the early morning, all you see are the ads blaming Strickland for the loss of jobs in Ohio during his term as governor and depletion of the state's surplus fund, while playing a recorded video of him acknowledging that he has had a cushy, high-paying job in Washington since being ousted in 2010 by John Kasich.

Portman is vulnerable, especially with Trump's perpetual meltdowns and their effect on Republicans seeking re-election in the Senate. Yet, I've seen NOTHING from the Democratic Party while the anti-Strickland ads come at you every morning by the dozen in every market in my viewing area.

Oh, or maybe its just that all the republicans are kicking in $27 a piece for Portman.
