The future of the Grand Canyon - Amusement Park vs. Natural wonder

Plans on the table - a trans cable and a mall, a path thru the entire length of the canyon and uranium mining permits. Interesting fact - more people have walked on the moon than have walked the entire length of the canyon.

Beautiful photos and the fight over the future of the canyon at:

I remember the first time I visited the canyon and how it literally took my breath away - should be on every American's bucket list.

I cancelled three subscriptions the day I learned that he had bought the magazine. ANYTHING printed in that vile rag is suspect. I hope you will seek other sources for information regarding the Grand Canyon. Murdoch would probably love to nuke it to make mining easier.

article seems to be anti-development and IMHO slanted towards leaving the canyon in its natural state. But it does warn of the dangers it faces in the future - sadly even from those who should have a spiritual and emotional tie to it.
Suggest you read the article.

We cannot allow the exploitation of this gorgeous wonder (or any of our other national parks) for profit.
