O.K. so why NO talk about *next step* in the MANAFORT thing?!1 Who's the jurisdiction?

DRUMPF and his entire crew are the biggest bunch of mobsters and lowlifes flocking together. "What a choice crew," a line from a
great novel by Carson McCULLERS, great unsung movie with Liz, Marlon, Julie HARRIS, Brian KEITH, directed by John HUSTON. When the Julie HARRIS character is committed and looks around the dining hall at her fellow psychiatric patients, she (a Southern LADY) says, “What a choice crew.”

So DRUMPF's whole crew is a grotesquerie of sleazes and ignorant mobsters, up to and including traitorous bastards and including DRUMPF himself. When DRUMPF first (officially) hired MANAFORT, I immediately found articles about his Ukraine and other shenanigans with multiple mobster tyrants, and the “new” news this week has hardly ADDED anything to what was already known. My question is: Uh, why NO talk about NEXT STEPS, like some kind of Federal charges. It’s all like, “Well, Hillary got cash for speeches and what about Benghazi?!”

What is the jurisdiction for (investigating, filing charges, *something*)?!1

So is it a DOJ thing? And we don't even know whether an investigation is happening or not? UTUSN Aug 2016 #2
Who knows? It probably shouldn't be public at this point. The Velveteen Ocelot Aug 2016 #3
What I'm missing is the *jurisdiction* - not the (initial?) secrecy of whatever investigation. UTUSN Aug 2016 #4

will not be done publicly. There are some obviously sensitive matters involving a somewhat hostile foreign government, and any investigation that occurs will not appear on the front page of the NY Times (or in some blog).

And meanwhile, MANAFORT, not to mention DRUMPF and his whole crew, are being toasted all over the media outlets?!1

Like I said - there are some sensitive international issues involved.

Like, there's a Federal statute, so who/what triggers the investigation?

Just with the round of Hillary persecution, the Repuke congresscritters asked what it would take to start another investigation since there were allegations out there in the media and the reply from (COMEY?) was that the FBI needed a REFERRAL.

So, I get that there are numerous intelligence agencies that might do the grunt investigation, but wouldn't any of the venues end up going back to DOJ?

And, given all these media reports, is a REFERRAL needed? From whom, anybody? To whom?

And, as for all the "secrecy" supposedly called for, it might seem that *that's* moot by now.
