Police opt to deescalate tense standoff outside Kansas City KS home

... Federal agents went to Gregory Andrews’ home early Tuesday to serve warrants. Police said he violated parole in connection with a past sex crime with a juvenile.

Andrews not only says the allegations are false, he doesn’t believe the police have any jurisdiction over him. He said he’s a member of the Black Lives Matter movement and a sovereign citizen.

“It says right on my sign here, ‘I will not submit, comply or even acknowledge anything that comes from the systemic, entrenched corruption that emanates from 710 N. Seventh St.,’” Andrews said, giving the address of the Wyandotte County Courthouse ...

When crowds gathered near Andrews’ home, police decided to deescalate the situation, pack up their police tape and leave. They said the severity of the warrant didn’t outweigh the possibility that someone might get hurt ...

1. Standoff ends with no arrests

... Authorities said U.S. marshals went to the home at 8:20 a.m. to arrest a man inside on a couple of warrants. Those warrants, police later said, were a parole violation on a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a minor and two counts of failing to register as a sex offender.

The man at the house, Gregory Andrews, is a noted critic of local officials. He said those charges are false and illegal. He refused to answer questions about whether he or anyone in the home had weapons.

"They asked me if I had guns. I said, 'What does that have to do with anything? Do you see one pointing at you? What does that have to do with anything?'" Andrews said.

At one point, a woman at the house was on a megaphone saying they're sovereign citizens and that they would not go quietly ...

2. Sovereign citizen movement poses special concerns for law enforcement

... Andrews said he won’t step foot in a courtroom to answer for the warrant. He also said that he has paid taxes in the past, even though he doesn’t have to because he considers himself a church. He said that after Tuesday’s incident, he’s done paying taxes.

Tactics aside, if such nonsense is let stand we will have anarchy in months. Why pay your taxes and comply with your parole if all it takes to avoid them is doing a Bartleby?

Assuming he's black (I won't be compelled to watch ads to read the article to find out but the BLM bit implies so) it's just another indication this right wing Galtian crap is not restricted to just white idiots, just idiots.
