His position statements are essentially meaningless since he's been on either side of the fence when it comes to many important issues.

People who believe in oppressing ANYONE shouldn't be allowed into America. Is there anyone on DU that believes otherwise?

I don't think some are understanding this thread. This isn't about LGBT people at all, we are only the fodder. This is about Islamophobia, as it is likely he is referring to Muslims as "oppressing gays". The problem is he doesn't see anti-gay laws as 'oppressing gays', something he has in common with far too many people, even on this side of the fence.

Oppressing gays doesn't begin and end with the death penalty and imprisonment.
