Scott's TBI probably was a major factor here.

I've been reading some on it, and there are a range of symptoms that can present that would have made a tense situation worse, including disorientation, aggression, irritability, dis-inhibition, not understanding the spoken word and slow cognitive processing.

Additionally, he had just taken his medication. We don't know when his last dose was. He could have been in pretty bad shape.

My personal belief is this greatly factored into the rapid escalation.

If it's an open carry state, then he had every right to have a gun. However, in reality, you're only catbyte Sep 2016 #6

He should not have been in possession of a gun let alone have one in his hand. The TBI makes that even more certain.

If he didn't have a gun, then the TBI could have caused him trouble, but didn't cause him to do anything that could reasonably result in getting shoot.

So TBI or no TBI, the question is whether he had a gun.

him like a dog, etc., won't matter to most, particularly white wingers.

If he'd been a white guy sitting in a car in an open carry state with a gun (assuming he was), the police would have bought him a cup of coffee and had an "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours."

Police handled this one wrong, as they have many. With that said, they've handled a lot of situations well too.

No background checks another one on the NRA. I expect this to come up again.

To purchase any weapon from an FFL a background check must be passed. Federal law also describes "prohibited persons". They would still be prohibited to own or carry a weapon. The cops were wrong to escalate the situation. The tapes should be released. I am glad in my State of Oklahoma, the officer was charged.

As someone convicted of multiple gun felonies, he would have no right to own a gun in any state.

allowed to open carry if you're white. They should just come right out and say that. Unfuckingbelievable.
