Sick Of Obnoxious Flag Waving & USA!!!!, USA!!!!,USA!!!! Shouting.

I am so totally sick of the over the top "jingoistic" and phony patriotism. Whether it is at a Trump rally or a sporting event like the Ryder Cup it is obnoxious, snarky. The mantra seems to be used more for shouting down those people you disagree with.

I am a Vietnam vet who spent a year in Vietnam and I would be most of these bastards would never put on a uniform or go into a war zone. And if we did have a draft most of these pricks would resist.

Some of the fans in the crowd are so embarrassing. Yesterday one prick yelled miss it miss it when one of the Europeans was putting for a win. He made it any way. You would think we are having WWIII with the Europeans the way some of these pricks are acting. It is just a damned golf match!

Just about every day I see some huge pick up truck with a huge American flag on it. And in some cases there is a confederate flag or Gadsden "Don't Tread On Me" flag flying. I also see a lot of DTOM stickers on cars and trucks.

It is ok to be proud of your country. But I find some of these displays just too much.

Glad I saw this - I was about to post about the same thing.

There was a time when, if I was mistaken for a Canadian when I was overseas, I didn't correct them. This is an example of why.

Donald J tRump called sexual disease his Vietnam.

Hair DrumpFührer says he knows more than the generals. He has a secret plan to destroy ISIS but he would demand a plan in 30 days from the generals, to test them we suppose.

Don the Con says he learned more about military strategy at his high school New York Military Academy than soldiers learn at West Point.

Check out my avatar!

USA! USA!

But seriously, I do agree with you.

The reason I use the flag avatar is because *they* think the flag belongs to them.

It doesn't.

Be quiet about having the same view as you stated. I have noticed this behavior from US Ryder Cup fans for 3 decades. My friends used to give me shit for observing this and more grief due to the fact that I openly rooted for the Euros. I also was fortunate to conduct a seminar with a great Euro player so I am also bias. Now a majority of these same people cheer for the Euros. The Euros come from 8 different counties and yet always seems to pull together better as a team. The fans are obnoxious and use the Red White and Blue as an excuse to conduct themselves in a unsportsmanlike manner. If it's US hockey, basketball etc I'm all in, golf? Never!

This is another example of how much I'm so greatful for finding this website. These comments about the Ryder Cup are as though you all have been reading my mind.

I remember the olympics was the same way. EVERY time they paned the US athletes, they would always chant USA!USA! And the athletes from the other country would just say wooo! Or whatever. I know the olympics is a little different. That is where you represent your country and all that and I get it. But it did kind of rubbed me the wrong way because it was just too much of it.

There is a guy in my area that drives around with an enormous flag sticking up from the bed of his pickup truck. Just. ...ugh.

It means White Supremacy. They say "I want my country back" (from blacks and browns).

The USA chant has not a thing to do with pride in country. It is offensive. And I agree with another poster that it has tinges of "white supremacy".

when candidates wear a lapel pin (of course, the American flag) or NOT (yeah, a "serious" FAUX news issue).

Really, a f**king metal pin on a frivolous part of your jacket (lapels are good for what?) tells us about what you can do to improve the condition of our country or its people?

GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!
