Nice that NYT publishes Trump's tax return. Here's my question...

What the hell took you guys so long to start vetting him?

Yes, I know the form was just received but Trump is such a sleaze bag and there is literally mountains of paper and hours of audio/visual recordings documenting his bad behavior and it is such low hanging fruit that it is beyond comprehension that it has not occurred to you in the media to shine a light on this cockroach and send him scurrying back into the woodwork.

Trump is going to lose, I am confident of that. There will no doubt be many tomes written about the failure of the GOP in the 2016 presidential campaign. The book I will buy though, is the one that examines the media's role in allowing this charlatan, conman, and scoundrel to get anywhere near the Oval Office.

He was just a carnival act. The pundits and the GOP big shots always figured one of the "respectable" candidates would eventually finish him off, so nobody bothered to vet him or do any serious oppo research until now. The media milked his success for all it was worth - it brought viewers/readers and therefore advertising revenue. It wasn't until the last few weeks that it started to dawn on them that a Trump presidency would be an absolute horror show for everybody - including them. So they've finally started doing what they should have done many months ago.

That they allowed that motivation to allow a man both singularly unqualified and extremely dangerous to get this close to the levers of power should be a wake up call. We shall see.

October is just right to give the story time to grow and sink into the voters' consciouness and give them enough time to make an informed decision as to who not to vote for.

Late campaign blockbusters like this are just about impossible to steer the undecided voters away from drawing a negative opinion of a candidate whose hypocrisy is do dramatically exposed.

In other words — WOOHOO!
