(10,252 posts)They are in love with money and white supremacy. But mostly they want to be super-rich and buy their way into the lives of the beautiful people. Never mind that the really rich people are "old money" with generations of ancestors, who have advanced degrees from the world's top universities, years being schooled in the cultured arts, facility in how to behave and what to say at elite dinner parties. Lots of money alone will only take you so far. But that's what the Trumpsters worship, the god of money. Acquisition of vast wealth, in their view, is the only prerequisite required. "Trump is a rich businessman" is their rationale for supporting him. Can you see the flaw in this reasoning? Money cannot buy happiness, peace of mind, and contentment.

(1,325 posts)STFU donny supporters hate the Democratic Party. Plain and simple, the same way some white folks can't stand black folks, and Eagles fans deplore Cowboy fans, many in the repuke party just flat out hate democrats who run for office. Any democrat.

(40,210 posts)I would not be shocked if on November 9th the story will not only be about the historic election of America's first woman president, but of how the republican loser was admitted overnight to a psychiatric ward. I do not say this is in jest. I think he will have a mental health event. He is a fragile man who will not be able to process the loss.

(7,888 posts)There are still real journalists willing to do a bit of investigative work. I am grateful for the many who have and will continue to do so.
Carter's personal interactions with rump confirms what voters should already know. It is so sad to hear the chant, "we just don't care", from the lost souls on the train heading over the cliff. Change is good, but when suicidal behaviour manifests itself in society, we must all be concerned.

(270 posts)This is not just Trump. This is the Republican Party candidate. These brilliant politicos have put up this candidate for election and are getting away with it.

(5,902 posts)That the GOP will nominate a "traditional" conservative (i.e. a wolf in sheep's clothing).
But now that it's had a taste of power, the base will only double down. Trump will probably look like a moderate compared to their 2020 nominee.
