Caitlyn Jenner Must Use Men’s Bathroom In North Carolina, Transphobic Governor Says

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory said during a debate Tuesday that transgender Olympian Caitlyn Jenner better plan on using the men’s bathroom if she visits the state.

McCrory, continuing his defense of the state’s sweeping anti-LGBT law, blamed “liberals” for “a major change in culture” that forced Republicans to respond with the legislation.

“In the private sector in North Carolina, she can go wherever the private sector wants her to,” McCrory, a Republican, said of Jenner, who as Bruce Jenner won Olympic gold 40 years ago. “If she’s going to a shower facility at [University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill] after running around the track, she’s going to use the men’s shower.”

I respect Caitlyn for what she is going through transitioning but considering her a role-model is just wrong. She has publically endorsed republicans and still does so even though Republicans would treat her like this.

This is why people like Chaz Bono and Laverne Cox are much better role-models for the Transgender community.

Laverne Cox is a very talented actress- might even watch that Rocky Horror Picture Show live version (and btw never seen the original, I was a 'Pink Floyd The Wall' fan).

For a Transgender to have money and celebrity status, it makes it so much easier to fit into society. Just like a pretty woman might overlook a man's look if he is wealthy (ie Donald Trump), society might overlook a person's transgender status if they too have money and/or celebrity status.

But for most transgender, life can be very very difficult. Many times a family might reject the transgender child; many transgenders end up on the street with very little support. People like Laverne Cox and Chaz Bono recognize this and fight for better Transgender advocacy. Whereas I see Caitlyn Jenner just sticking her head in the sand. Life is good for her so who cares about everyone else!
