Mike Pence: ‘A Trump-Pence Administration Will Defund Planned Parenthood’

In a speech today at Liberty University, Mike Pence reiterated Donald Trump’s vow to defund Planned Parenthood and curtail abortion rights if elected in November.

“I long to see the day that Roe v. Wade is consigned to the ash heap of history where it belongs,” he said, before claiming that Trump will support anti-abortion legislation as president.

“And Donald Trump and I believe that the largest abortion provider in America should not be the largest recipient of federal funding under Title X,” he said. “A Trump-Pence administration will defund Planned Parenthood and redirect those dollars to women’s health care that doesn’t provide abortion services.”

In a speech last month, Pence said that a Trump administration would begin to clamp down on abortion rights on “the first day we take office.”
