to reinforce their belief in the system?
I know what the polls show and what we expect but 2000 also happened.

(35,015 posts)Is it possible they could hack our voting systems and make Trump the winner? I would like an expert to tell me it can't happen...because I think it's possible.

(35,015 posts)we also know that Donald is a white supremacist, and Russia is a terribly racist country, plus he seems to have a man crush on Putin. What if he made a deal with Putin? I am sure if Donald wins he will sell this country off to the highest bidder, Russia being a likely candidate.

He won't litigate a thing - he won't even sue the NYT.

(52,208 posts)he didn't overtly call for any particular target or time, he just "rallied the faithful" and "called for action".
they all knew what that meant. and he didn't care about the particulars. any big attack would do.
similarly, trump is calling his faithful to action. he doesn't care about the particulars.
but if someone notices a precinct about to report hillary winning 2-to-1 and someone swaps the numbers to trump wins 2-to-1, well, they're just protecting the vote, right? trump couldn't possibly lose so hillary must have cheated to get to 2-to-1, right?

(9,148 posts)With his refusal in hand, its a quick step to sending his screams of "I will not concede because it was rigged", to the Supreme Court and then screech about how the SC is invalid since the full Court is minus one Judge.
This sends the decision of choosing our 2016 President to the Speaker of the House. Paul Ryan.
This was addressed briefly on morning news today.
The fact that the meme has now made it's way to MSM, expect to hear more about it because this is exactly what the Trump GOP will do.
It is their only path to victory, but it is a path that they will take. Trump will not concede Clinton's popular nor electoral victory.
The decision will make its way to Speaker Ryan's desk.
I have no doubt.
That is why, 3 weeks out, we are hearing the drumbeat of a Rigged election.
This will turn messier than it already is since the stakes are so high.
President Pense? Of course. Because Trump will resign to run his TV Station.
Worse case scenario.
Trump is not about to concede his loss no matter how massive it is.

(22,896 posts)Concession is entirely optional, and candidates sometimes refuse to concede defeat despite the vote count being against them, especially if they suspect electoral fraud. In that case, the candidate would likely demand a recount of the votes or other investigations into the alleged fraud. Sometimes, concession may be denied not because of any specific fraud allegations but simply because of ill will accumulated over the campaign.
It is not necessary for the losing candidate to concede for the winning candidate to be seated, and the losing candidate is not obliged to concede once defeat has been conclusively demonstrated.

(22,896 posts)Apparently he went berserk when "The Apprentice" lost to "The Amazing Race," so this behavior is truly par for the course.

...as the bellicose orange-hued bloviator goes after a much bigger prize, his Emmy history might provide a small clue as to what could happen if he doesnt actually end up in the Oval Office. Just as hes upended traditional campaign etiquette, he trashed awards-show decorum when the show he hosted and executive produced, The Apprentice, lost to The Amazing Race in 2004 and 2005.

(4,723 posts)Not seeing anything that states he must make a formal concession. However, my guess is that he will tie things up in the court system, no matter how thin the rationale is for doing so. He'll milk this for as much attention as he can get, just like a spoiled rotten child. I'll also guess that many of his supporters will be running amok committing acts of violence and vandalism.
