Any time the President, VP, and at least most of Congress is going to be all in one place, there's one Cabinet member assigned to stay elsewhere as portrayed in the show. That's nothing new and not unique to either party.

also has one.

Watching the new show Designated Survivor and it had a republican designated survivor

after the official DS came on as pres, the other side's DS appeared.

You definitely need them in the House since the House cannot be reappointed. Senators can be appointed quickly. Perhaps, governors should vet appointments beforehand?

If such an event like the show took place, it would be a magnitude times worse than 9/11. We wouldn't have a government.
