Submit your nominees for the 10th Annual Late H. Lee Atwater Award for Right Wing Evil…

Yes, my lovelies... This will be the tenth year of this proud DU tradition. I'm sure that you can't wait to vote for your favorite winger.

AS always, the award thread will be posted on Halloween Eve as usual, right here in GD.

If you support Donald Trump you have to believe some truly excoriable things:

* You have to believe that it's okay to hate and restrict immigration of people not of your race or religion, which is both un-Constitutional and un-American;

* You have to believe that the President himself is a "secret Muslim" and not born in the United States, despite overwhelming proof to the contrary, which is stupid;

* You have to believe that humans are not the cause of the changing climate, a position invented and financially supported by corporate leaders who stand to profit in the short term from not doing anything about it, which is going to kill and displace millions of Americans, and hundreds of millions around the world, over the next century;

* You have to believe that the wife of a President who was impeached for having a consensual sexual relationship outside of his marriage is not eligible to be President, while a sexual predator now facing the allegations of at least ten different victims, is;

* If you think that your political opponents and the media who accurately report the unforgivable statements and deeds of your own candidate should be "locked up," you have no idea what the United States represents;

* You have to believe that a candidate who destroyed her personal emails while publicly releasing her official correspondence while doing a really important Cabinet-level job is a criminal, while a corporate criminal fending off hundreds of lawsuits as we speak, who routinely declares bankruptcy to escape debt, who routinely refuses to pay those who work for him, and who doesn't dare release a tax return has some good excuse for his secretiveness;

* You have to believe that a person who has adopted the positions, slogans, and even facial gestures of the Fascists who our grandparents fought and died to defeat around the globe is a worthy American Presidential candidate.

I'm sorry, Republican voters. You are the Nazis, now. You are the racists, the authoritarians, the Christian crusaders, the personally vacant moralists, the inside-track privileged, the deplorable Americans who are not making America great again, but who have brought it to its lowest ebb of civility in fifty years. You toil in the service of evil, in the service of the very people who will sooner pass through the eye of a needle than stand in the presence of your magical sky-monkey, and if you succeed, evil shall be your direct reward.

Fuck you, Republicans. Your hatred enflames my hatred for injustice, and I will never forgive you for that.

According to Trump, it already is? So, how does it turn into a hellscape if it already is a hellscape?

I'm so confused.
