most fundamental institutions in America; the electoral system? Comey's actions against HRC are unprecedented by any measure, except in third world nations. His use of the FBI's prestige and gravitas for political purpose is an egregious abuse of authority that, if allowed to stand, will turn the FBI into a political force whose use will be at the behest of who ever is in the whitehouse. The appointment of FBI directors will become a circus easily as weird and clownish as seating new Supreme Court Justices.

Comey has violated not just the tradition of the FBI's apolitical philosophy, but the rules and law that disallow political scheming and interference. Comey's supplication and pandering to a congress that had no right, and certainly considerable reason not to have been given any investigatory information, to particulars of any FBI activities is of bipartisan agreement. Comey has changed the dynamic of the world in which the FBI operates. He has despoiled the almost mythical legend of the FBI's infallibility, honor and incorruptibility. Considering the timing and nature of Comey's disclosure of FBI activities, his actions may be of the most corrupt nature imaginable.

There is only one solution to the constitutional crisis into which Comey has tossed the nation, his abject apology and resignation. He has a obligation to save the FBI from further harm, this nation and its constitutional processes and last and least, his honor. Failure to act may throw the FBI back into the days of Hoover and the land of secret files that manipulated an unknowing nation.

The FBI clown car is heading for the proverbial cliff, time for Comey to take his foot off the accelerator and step on the brake.
