An American citizen who respects the Constitution, the laws extending from this glorious democratic nation-founding document, and the history we've built and improved upon as a country of immigrants over the past centuries would NEVER be able to vote for him.
It breaks my heart to see these people blindly (and enthusiastically) supporting a such a depraved person, the likes of which will sell this country off to the highest bidder.
Treason.

(5,325 posts)Which would not be the case just because someone votes for Donald Trump. Not even close. Try real hard not to over-state things that way. Really.

(35,015 posts)When the people are too ignorant, too scared, and/or too money hungry then vote for someone like Donald - to try to elect him president, it's an act of betrayal to all of us and to future generations. Voting is SERIOUS and as a collective, we are responsible for any outcome. The outcome of Donald as leader of this country would hurt every single one of us.

(5,325 posts)....... is that it is a government by and for the people who agree with you. Those who don't think and vote as you do are "ignorant" and "scared".
Do you not see how elitist that is?
It's just sad the way the word "treason" is thrown around these days.

You're right... it IS fun and entertaining to petulantly correct someone for its own sake.

(2,550 posts)Don't go off the deep end.
People don't have to agree with our side, many Americans are looking for change and see Hillary as status quo.
Personally, I'm happy with the country and think Hillary is 6000000000 times more qualified, intelligent and the best candidate who ran.
I do not think many on the other side are committing treason, I think they just aren't happy for some reason.

(35,015 posts)I care about the chaos and destruction that will occur if Donald is president. You may think it will be ok if he's elected but it will not.
I'll choose a synonym then - betrayal. Votes for Trump are an act of betrayal.

(2,550 posts)Similar to I hear on the right that if Hillary is elected, blah blah. Truth is, our local and judicial members are much more important than our chief executive.
I'm not going to debate what a Trump presidency would look like but the vast majority of Americans are more center than you think.
If Hillary were anti abortion, pro gun and wanted to cut social programs, many of Trump supporters would back her. Hell, if she was only one of those she'd pick up a good chunk.
Many of all voters are single issue voters, not treason or betrayal.

(5 posts)That is the bottom line for Repubs and always has been. First, they always protect what they think they have. Always. My first vote was for John Kennedy. Sadly, look how that turned out. His opponent, Richard Nixon, a classic Republican, became president a short time later. Look how that turned out. Forget, Ronald Reagan who was affected by Alzheimer's, which is/was ignored. The national debt soared. Look how that turned. Bill Clinton reduced that. Skip George Bush I, he did little or nothing, but he did not get bound up in Iraq. His son Bush II got us involved in that and destroyed the economy. We all see how that turned out, but Repubs forget that, acting like he did not exist. And now Trump. Adjectives cannot describe him adequately. People like McConnell and Ryan and the rest:selfish and small minded, same as all other deplorable. The stock market crash will get their attention along with everyone else.
