Facebook has fake ads..here is what they are about..

Facebook has ads that false..I saw 2 of them, One, Saying Sylvester Stallone had died, and another..that Clint Eastwood had died. These are tricks to get you to click on those pictures. These people have not died..There are people who buy these ads, just to get people to click on them . After clicking, You see the fake story, and the ads that are associated it. Then, the person who put up the ad, gets a small amount of money..maybe one hundred of a cent..After thousands of clicks, that person has made some money..This comes from outside the country.....Why Faebook allows this ads is not known.....Beware of them.

Usually from fake Facebook pages for places like Disney or Southwest Airlines.

You'll see "Like and Share our page and enter into a contest to win a free Disney World vacation with spending money."

Inevitably thousands of people will fall victim.

I did not know about that kind of con job. I guess as long as Facebook gets paid, it doesn't care who gets conned or whether or not any ad is true.. As stated in another post on this topic..
.............Capitalism that is the answer..

It's like the Nigerian prince scam. How can anyone believe Southwest Airlines is giving away free plane ticket to anywhere in the world (even though Southwest has a limited flight route) just for liking/sharing a FB posting? It pains me to see how stupid this nation has become.

You see people post things like, "I don't have the money to go to Disney World/fly to see my family so I hope I win!" when it should be obvious that it's nothing but a scam.

4. Some people on DU use the same duplicitous tactic.

They post a deliberately shocking title to lure DU readers into opening their thread and then there's no there, there. Its a ruse, click bait, a con game, some lame ass trick to boost their post numbers or viewership. Look around, there are already a couple of these misleading posts up this morning.

That's why all the "numbered" clickbait posts. You get to click on 10, 20, 50 or more pages of ads and bullshit.

Especiallly all of the "shocking photos of (pick celebrity name at random) they don't want you to see."

It's all clickbait.

I signed up for a copy writing web site. I've never submitted anything once I figured out the scam. It's how these click-bait sites propagate. Copy writers are paid a pittance -- as little as $1.50 per article -- just to fill space. Come up with a bullshit article about "Shocking facts about celebrity underwear!" and they'll pay you a buck and a half. Then they post it on these click-bait pages where your 500 words are broken out into 20 page views. All the while they're getting your browser info, installing trackers into your web history, and selling your info to other scamsters.

Bottom line; use good blocking software, and/or NEVER click on those stupid Facebook quizzes or "My best friend is..." things that want to look through your past FB posts and photos. Absolutely, totally a 100% scam. Every one. No exceptions.

That says something similar to.......if you don't copy and paste this to your Facebook page, Facebook will start charging you for your content...........or, your information is not safe. Copy and paste this to your time line to stop the distribution of your content.

I laugh ever time I see someone that has copied and pasted that!

I'm beginning to wonder if the propensity to engage in these farces is genetic. "If you don't forward this message to 10 people your dog will die!"
