Robots would do the physical work of humans. Computers would do much of the intellectual work. It was a beautiful scenario.

We would be working 15 hour weeks and there would be an explosion in leisure pursuits. We would be able to fulfill our dreams of writing or sport or study or travel or whatever would fulfill us. How would it work if corporations were greedy and didn't share the dividend of technology? They would pay higher taxes. Wage costs would be lower, so they certainly would be able to pay more in corporation taxes.

It would be an ideal life for us all. What is so wrong with that vision?
