Pardon me if I say

I plan to hang our here for hours and hours...I want to make up for all the time I missed DU and I feel safer here than on twitter or anywhere else.

I had posted some notes about DU being down on twitter and had gotten some nasty responses by right wingers, telling me, they hope we never get the site back up, and they hoped that it will always stay down for good.

I also, left that other website, because I hated what I saw there as well. I just wanted to play my music, but I could not avoid all the crap that was being flung at this website.

Joni Mitchell once wrote lyrics that said:

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Til its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot

Its how I certainly felt. I need this place as someone who has always felt the need to be political and its certainly a safe haven for Democrats who don't feel like being beaten over the head every day by People who JUST HATE. HATE women, hate minorities, hate leftist ideas, hate democratic ideals, and just HATE anything that is different. They are even threatened by people speaking a language other than English in their presence. How did all this even come about? Its just so nuts. So don't mind me, (please) popping up in a few threads planting my two cents worth. I just, like some of you, I suspect, need a safe harbor, away from the flying shrapnel and in coming bombs from the right wing.

With all they plan for the next four years we will need strength in numbers and a place to seek refuge from the insanity that this country will transition to.

1. I tried Twitter for 1 or 2 weeks

Followed a couple famous people but they never had any real news, it was like the most boring thing ever. DU is way better than Twitter.

5. DU is better than Twitter for Democrats but

Twitter has always been my favorite social media especially in that I can follow my favorite Japanese bands and they can follow me back. I have good friends there and have rub shoulders with several famous people and made friends with a few celebrities like Margaret Cho and a few top Asian Models in Los Angeles like Cindy Chu. I can also follow my favorite Tv shows like SUPERGIRL, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and Green Arrow on the CW.

I don't own a TV so, it allows me to follow The Oakland Raiders and their march to the playoffs, and the San Francisco Giants with San Francisco fans. There are many ways to connect in to all of this, but for me Twitter is the best, and of course access to news as it breaks both here and abroad.

6. How does the news work on Twitter?

It was awhile since I used it but who would you have to follow for news? It would seem like anything there came from someone somewhere first. That's why I just go to LBN.

I probably don't know how to do a lot of that.

8. There are various good sources for news.

American news is not as reliable as it used to be. I use other countries that I have found trust worthy for news sources. The UK, Canada, Japan and a few others.

is that ever an understatement.

That line just caught my eye and kind of made me chuckle

2. they took all the trees and put 'em in a tree museum

And they charge the public a dollar and a half just to see 'em.

What was once a song lyric will soon be government policy.

10. For years Republicans have talked about DESTROYING public parks

by logging trees, and mining the GRAND CANYON. No one can stop them this time.. IF they want to take out ALL THE CALIFORNIA REDWOODS, than they will and will shove a huge middle finger in our faces. I suspect more than a few people will be strapping themselves to Redwood trees before long...

Say good bye to these giants

3. Feels great to be back, doesn't it

I got into some nasty tussles with trolls on the DU Facebook page, and on another group page where I post. On the bright side, it helped me sharpen up my troll squashing skills. But I sure missed my friends on DU.

It got to the point where most of them were Republicans gloating. The "silent majority" I wanted to say she won the popular vote but I'm not logging into FB to say all that.

7. I had one guy, in another FB group, who wouldn't answer my question, so I re-asked it in Russian
Tue Nov 15, 2016, 10:19 PM
Nov 2016

He finally disappeared. And my question, in both English and Russian, was to ask if he was paid by the word, or by the post. And was there a bonus if he posted rude pictures.

Another persistent guy disappeared after I corrected his grammar. I'm a little disappointed because he was my favorite. I didn't even take it personally when he referred to me (now I'm paraphrasing) as a hellish, blood spurting, spell casting demon witch from hell.
