Malcolm Gladwell: Donald Trump will be in jail within a year

[link:http://deadstate.org/malcolm-gladwell-donald-trump-will-be-in-jail-within-a-year/

Speaking on CBC’s The National, English-born Canadian writer Malcolm Gladwell has a dire prediction for Donald Trump should he win the presidency.

Speaking on CBC’s The National, English-born Canadian writer Malcolm Gladwell has a dire prediction for Donald Trump should he win the presidency.

“I think he will be in jail within a year,” he told anchor Wendy Mesley.

According to Gladwell, Trump’s shady “charitable donations” and the Trump University fraud case will be the source of ongoing legal troubles.

Whip Inflation Now. A slogan. Of course, it didn't work and inflation got worse, and most reputable economists say it was BECAUSE of what they did, not in spite of it.

His incompetence (and Nixon's duplicity) pretty much set Carter up for failure. Once there were gas lines, nobody was willing to wait for Carter's ideas to bear fruit.

First they got rid of Agnew, then they got rid of Nixon.

We have to get rid of Pence, THEN impeach Orange Julius Caesar.

What has Pence done that's indictable? I thought he was just Cotton Mather in a suit and tie. I see him as Ted Cruz without the slime -- against American liberties and a theocrat, but not corrupt in the same way as Christie.

Would love to see them all gone.

From November 03, 2016

http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2016/11/03/can-a-president-self-pardon/

The short answer to whether the Constitution permits self-pardoning is: Yes, it probably does. That seems to be the prevailing — but by no means unanimous — opinion among legal experts.

The absence of case law on the topic makes certainty impossible. And nobody knows for sure whether the Founders considered self-pardons when drafting the Constitution. But what’s clear is that they never explicitly prohibited presidents from clearing themselves of crimes.

The president’s pardon authority is spelled out in Article II, Section 2, Clause 1, which states: “The President shall…have power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.”

He is extremely conservative but he is a down the line Repub. and they feel like he would be much better.

So I guess they could impeach Trump and get Pence in.

Kind of makes sense.

watch Donald go ballistic when he realizes they are plotting behind his back, which is what has to be done with an ENTIRELY UNQUALIFIED "PRESIDENT"

Trump is not

Donald is entirely unqualified to do presidential duties other than getting his narcissistic need for attention, hence the infighting

He said Trump is all about Trump and he will commit crimes.

I question if he will be accountable for them.

There's still a strong coalition of "unitary executive - If the president does it it's not illegal" types in the Republican party who will vote down any effort to impeach,.....even if Trump launches nukes against Alec Baldwin.

There have been countries in Europe threatening sanctions against us if we elected Donald Trump. His plans to go full Hitler and start a Muslim registry and built the wall are already going through. Scary shit.
